Plant newly divided plants in spring in well-prepared soil. Give a dressing of complete fertiliser and water in well. Protect with either chemical or organic slug repellent.
This particular variety likes a position shaded from hot sun in dappled shade. All Hostas enjoy rich moist soil, which will mimic their natural conditions on the woodland floor and damp meadows. To help keep the soil in good order mulch with well-rotted compost in autumn or spring. Over time they will make large spreading clumps, so occasionally they may need splitting and dividing. Most Hostas are attacked by slugs and snails and benefit from either a chemical or cultural protection to keep the foliage from being shredded.
Specific Feeding:
Apply a dose of complete fertilser as leaves begin to unfurl in spring.
