Specific Planting:

Plant in sun or partial shade but not too wet.
Plant the bulb no more than 5cm deep in well-drained soil. If they are supplied as a clump in a pot dig a hole the same size as the root ball, and plant it into the soil so that the surface that was in the pot remains at the same level as the soil.
Firm around the edges and water in well.

Specific Care:

This plant, although quite vigorous, will benefit from a more open, free draining site. Remove foliage as it dies, but bear in mind that the flowers will follow soon.

Specific Feeding:

Mulching a border annually in the winter months with well-rotted organic matter will provide sufficient food for these plants. The worms will take the material into the soil, which improves its structure and nutrient levels.
On a poor soil adding a fast release granular feed will provide a quick fix early in the season, and although good on it's own, is better used alongside an application of organic matter.
Another option is to apply blood, fish and bone early in the season, as this is a good all round balanced feed.
