Plant Description:

This aquatic plant with curly dark green leaved stems is good for ponds and aquarium and excellent for providing extra oxygen during daylight hours and providing a protected environment for small fish and wildlife. It is a haven for live food and perfect as a spawning medium as well as being excellent for maintaining clean healthy pond water.
It is a submerged plant that grows to the surface.
Care must be taken to not let it grow out of proportion to your pond by breaking off any pieces growing too large for you.
Any removed excess is good for your compost heap! It can be planted directly into the bottom of your pond by planting in a water plant basket and covering with gravel or if in your aquarium tying down with a stone or weight.
Alternately, you can leave it floating.

Specific Planting:

Water depth 30-150cms
Push the stems into the mud or add gravel to an aquatic pot and push the stems into the gravel to hold them in place. Gently lower the pot into the water.
You can but bunches with lead to act as a weight. You can throw these into the middle of the pond where the lead will anchor the plants in place until the roots take hold

Specific Care:

Elodea crispa needs regular maintenance to keep it fresh so remove old and dying stem growth(black or clear in colour) from the lower depths of the pond.
